Introduction: The University of Miami CHC PhD scholarships in USA under the Goizueta Foundation postgraduate scholarship Program assists PhD students with the intention of using research resources at the University of Miami Cuban Heritage Collection (CHC) for their dissertation resource and research. The Goizueta Foundation post-graduate scholarship aims to provide the needed materials from the Cuban Heritage Collection. This program provide and support research in the area of American studies, Cuban studies, Latinx studies, hemispheric studies, and international studies.

Cuban Heritage Collection Fellowships Categories
Scholarship Categories; Graduate Pre-Prospectus Summer Fellowships
The Pre-Prospectus Summer Fellowships allows PhD students to decide on how the CHC may serve their research needs. This is paramount as the PhD students prepare for the dissertation. This scholarship allows the students to explore the collection and resource to determine if the resources will be useful for their dissertation. These scholarships values include but not limited to $1,500 for one month.
Scholarship Categories; Graduate Research Fellowships
This award is for PhD intending to use the Cuban Heritage Collection as their primary resource for a dissertation. To be considered and eligible for this scholarship, applicants must have passed all necessary exams and completed all course work associated with their program. The value of this fellowship includes but not limited to $3,000/month for periods of one to three months. Also, to qualify for this award, the applicants must not hold any teaching position and must be a full-time candidate.
Scholarship Selection Criteria
To qualify for either of the scholarships, candidates and applicants must provide a proposal with attached qualifications. Also, the candidates must show the need to access the Cuban Heritage Collections.
University of Miami Cuban Heritage Collection Scholarship eligibility
To be considered for these scholarships, you must be a U.S. citizens, or permanent residents and a doctoral candidate enrolled at a university in the U.S. Moreover, international students enrolled in a PhD program in the USA and with F-1 student visas are also eligible to apply. Also, as a past winner of the graduate Pre-Prospectus Fellows, you may apply for a Graduate Research Fellowship.
The application for the CHC PhD scholarships in USA must include the application form, research statement, proposal, research plan, resume and three excellent letter of reference which must be confidential. The research statement is a project abstract with a maximum word count of 300 words. The proposal is a project description with maximum words of 1,500. The research plan is an exclusive explanation of the list of Cuban Heritage Collection materials to be accessed, although this list is an overview, and not an exclusive one.
