  1. How can I deal with so much audio, processing and listening simultaneously?

It’s a good question but what you need to do is prepare your mind and get accustomed to the English language. I do advice people, listen to the audio many times at the beginning to understand the syllables, hear the words, comprehend the phrase, and understand the sentences. You need to work out of your dialect, forget what your English teacher taught you about pronunciation, listen to the correct one from the audio. When you listen to the audio several times, you gain confidence from your hearing abilities and your brain will switch on, so that it can process words, phrases, sentences simultaneous with greater understanding. The best IELTS result is not a day job they are earn by using and listen to the IELTS listening sample test.

  1. Get help from the several sample audio

Before you go for the exams, do not just listen to one audio, listen to many audios you can lay your hands upon. Moreover, answer all question associated with the audios in the shortest time and find out if you are able to improve your answering speed with every try you make. For every time you listen to the same audio, your brain registers a piece of a word, sentence, phrase and paragraph so that the next time you listening, you are interpreting the answer simultaneously. Read the title; it will immediately give you an idea of what the article is going to be about.  More practice using the IELTS listening sample test will improve your boldness and certification for the exams.

  1. Think about the listening test structure

The words being spoken are structured and have a meaning, that is, they tell a story. Thus when listening, you need to see the structure of the audio voice and see the story being told, where it starts, what is going on, where it ends and what are the points and stages that the narrator wants you to hear. Sometimes the narrator, emphasises some phrase just to cue your brain into understanding that those words are important. Thus be alert and enlist the structure in mind.  The audio will have an introduction and a conclusion.

  1. Use the Key Words used by the narrator.

As an effective listener, you need to see the keywords being spoken and be able to use these keywords as a cue for you to understand and remember what the narrator is saying. In some instance you might be allowed to write down points while listening, I always advise the students to use shorthand during audio, so as not to miss out of any of the audio sentences. If any hints come to your mind write it down and keep listening.  For more help in regards to how to pass IELTS exams, please contact our admission consultants via admin@african-scholarship.com or contact varsity-scholarship.com here.
