International Center for Journalism journalism study abroad scholarships

Introduction: The journalism study abroad scholarships at International Center for Journalism are provided as a result of collaboration between renowned media enterprises and foundations as well as Freie Universität Berlin. The scholarship is highly recommended and available for professionals aiming to connect with renowned professionals.

Journalism study abroad Program

The International Center for Journalism will provide journalism course in October for interested applicants via the Freie Universität Berlin, and the  European Journalism-Fellowships will be provided for the outstanding applicants

Aim of the Journalism program

The programme aims to help participants in networking with upline professional and outstanding colleagues from Eastern Europe, Western Europe and the United States. Moreover, the program will provide the opportunity to take some time off work while studying at the Freie Universität Berlin on a two-semester sabbatical leave. The program will also enable the participants to widen their knowledge while working on a specific research project. [Related:  National University of Singapore PhD scholarship ].

Type of the Scholarships

The scholarship is classified into three which include:

  •  EJF-Scholarship: available to up to nine applicants
  • EJO-Fellowship: available for only one applicant
  • Scholarship of the Study Foundation (Berlin House of Representatives)
Application procedure

To apply for any of the scholarships, applicants must apply via the European Journalism-Fellowships Programme in Berlin portal and submit other documents as required including the completed application form,  curriculum vitae and copies of the academic diplomas and certificates. Also, applicants must upload two letters of recommendation and a selection of articles, books, or other samples of applicant’s work. Proving German language skills is important. Likewise, the applicants must submit the summary of a research project (3 to 5 pages). The application is via the portal only application via the fax or e-mail will not be accepted.
